It's all here: world-class theater, stunning summer festivals, big-city art museums, historic New England wonders. Greater New Haven has enough top-tier cultural attractions to exhaust any visitor. The rooms of the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art are crowded with extraordinary works (and admission is free). The Long Wharf Theatre and Yale Repertory Theatre present, year in and year out, among the best shows in the country. The history-minded will want to see the New Haven Colony Museum and the many period-restored homes in the countryside. And then there's the more eclectic: the Knights of Columbus Museum, East Haven's vintage Shore Line Trolley Museum, the crypt under Center Church on the New Haven Green.
